Lower your electricity bills with the Texas Power Switch
Port Lavaca residents have a choice in electric providers; however, most people have not made a change in the past three years and are overpaying for their electricity.
The Texas Power Switch is an electricity switching program that gives residents the opportunity to join together and get a lower rate on electricity by asking providers to bid on the group’s business. The city is not paying any money to be part of the program and is not receiving any money for helping to promote it.
A growing number of Texans are joining the Texas Power Switch program and saving an average of $375 a year on their electricity bills. There is also no cost to residents who choose to participate or an obligation to accept the winning provider’s offer. Please note that if you are presently enrolled in an electricity contract, your current provider may charge a fee if you terminate the contract before the contract end date, so be sure to check your current contract terms.
How it works:
- Register for free at www.texaspowerswitch.com/portlavaca.
- Registrants will automatically be entered into a group made up of other registrants.
- Electric providers will compete for the group’s business by offering their best rates and the lowest rate wins.
- All registered residents will receive a personal offer email by February 14, 2020 and can then decide whether to accept the offer or not. There is no obligation to switch.
Questions about the program can be emailed to energy@texaspowerswitch.com. More information is available by calling 888-376-2077.
You are not required to be a Port Lavaca resident to register. Anyone living in a service area where you can choose your electric provider can participate.
